Leon Wilson

Ole CropDuster, Consultant & Pilot

Leon Wilson, known as "Ole CropDuster," is a consultant and former pilot born on December 5, 1939, in Muleshoe, Texas. After losing his father at 13, Leon took over the family farm. His passion for aviation began early, earning his private pilot's license on his high school graduation day in 1958.

His career in aerial application, or "crop dusting," spanned several decades. Leon established and operated multiple spraying services across Texas, including Longhorn Spraying, Inc. in Muleshoe and Kingsville. His expertise led him to spray vast areas of the Texas Panhandle in the late 1970s.

In 1994, a diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis grounded his flying career. Undeterred, he transitioned to various roles including security surveillance, pharmaceutical returns, and accounting. Currently, Leon works as an accountant and auditor with Legacy PSG, Inc..

Throughout his life, Wilson has demonstrated resilience and adaptability, from farming in Arizona's desert to pioneering in the aerial application industry. His rich experiences in aviation and business continue to inform his work as a consultant to Legacy AIR1 & Legacy Aero Group today.
